Description

This Edwardian Oak Panel Door is a great choice for 1920s and 30s properties. The design is simple, traditional and compliments many styles.

Our doors have Grade A American White Oak veneers to ensure the best finish. Underneath the veneer is a tested, engineered core construction that guarantees stability and performance in environments with central heating, moisture and cool air. Controlling the moisture levels internally means that our doors will stand the test of time without splitting or warping.

There are 11mm lippings on all our doors allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from each side and 25mm from the bottom on installation, ensuring a perfect fit for all frames.

Measuring Guides

Follow these steps to be able to quickly and accurately measure your doorway to make sure you get doors that fit your space perfectly.

1. Measure the width of the doorway (A)

Take this measurement in three places:

  • Once towards the very top.
  • Once in the middle.
  • Once just above floor level.

There may be a slight variation in the width between the top and bottom of the frame – if this is the case then use the shortest measurement.

2. Measure the height of the doorway (B)

Again, you should do this three times:

  • On the left.
  • In the centre.
  • On the right.

There is usually a small difference in the frame, particularly in older houses, and you need to make sure your door fits the smallest space.

Note: if there is a big difference in any one set of measurements (width or height) you may need to replace or realign the door frame before installing your doors.

3. Take both measurements again

It is important that these measurements are accurate, so take them twice just to be sure.

Being meticulous with your measurements might feel time-consuming when your taking them but it is worth it! It is far more hassle to discover your doors don’t fit half-way through hanging them, and far more expensive too if you’re no longer able to return or exchange them.

4. Find the right size

Check the size dropdowns on all our doors to see what sizes are available.

We have 11mm lipping's on all our doors allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from each side and 25mm from the bottom on installation, ensuring a perfect fit for all frames.

They arrived fairly quickly and well packed. Our carpenter had no trouble installing them. They look good quality and hopefully they will pass the test of time. We will be ordering more for the rest of the house.

Up to 7mm can be trimmed of each side of the door
Are these doors solid oak or veneered, if veneered what thickness of liping/edging do they allow for fitting
Hi, these are Oak veneered. We only use Grade ‘A’ American White Oak veneers to ensure our doors has the best quality finish. Underneath the veneer we use a tested engineered core construction that ensures stability and performance in environments with central heating, moisture and cool air. We use 11mm lipping's on all our doors allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from the sides and 25mm from the bottom on installation.
how much can you trim this door down by?
You can trim this door down by 7mm on each side and 25mm from the bottom.
Hi, I need to take off approx 18mm off the height of the doors. Does this mean I will be cutting into the void and I would have to put back some of the lipping core I have cut off.
You can take 25mm off the bottom of the door
