We only use Grade ‘A’ American White Oak veneers to ensure our doors has the best quality finish. Underneath the veneer we use a tested engineered core construction that ensures stability and performance in environments with central heating, moisture and cool air. Controlling the moisture levels internally means, our doors will stand the test of time without warping or splitting.
We also have 11mm lipping's on all our doors allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from each side and 25mm from the bottom on installation, ensuring a perfect fit for all frames.
Our Fire Doors are rated at FD-30 Certified BS476 Part 22 (44mm thick). All our doors are tested in the UK with the relevant certificates available in the 'Fire Resistance Documents' section on this page. Please note that our Fire Doors must be fitted with a fire rated door frame and intumescent strip to be compliant with current UK Building and Fire Regulations. Follow these steps to be able to quickly and accurately measure your doorway to make sure you get doors that fit your space perfectly.
Take this measurement in three places:
There may be a slight variation in the width between the top and bottom of the frame – if this is the case then use the shortest measurement.
Again, you should do this three times:
There is usually a small difference in the frame, particularly in older houses, and you need to make sure your door fits the smallest space.
Note: if there is a big difference in any one set of measurements (width or height) you may need to replace or realign the door frame before installing your doors.
It is important that these measurements are accurate, so take them twice just to be sure.
Being meticulous with your measurements might feel time-consuming when your taking them but it is worth it! It is far more hassle to discover your doors don’t fit half-way through hanging them, and far more expensive too if you’re no longer able to return or exchange them.
Check the size dropdowns on all our doors to see what sizes are available.
