Description

This beautiful contemporary, oak door is part of our cottage design. One of the most popular in the range, its minimalist design and distinctive grooves, make it a great addition to your modern home.

We use Grade ‘A’ American White Oak veneers to ensure our doors have the best quality finish. Underneath the veneer is a tested, engineered core construction that ensures stability and performance in environments with central heating, moisture and cool air. Controlling the moisture levels internally means our doors will stand the test of time without warping or splitting.

All our doors have 11mm lippings, allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from the sides and 25mm from the bottom on installation, ensuring a perfect fit for all frames.

Measuring Guides

Follow these steps to be able to quickly and accurately measure your doorway to make sure you get doors that fit your space perfectly.

1. Measure the width of the doorway (A)

Take this measurement in three places:

  • Once towards the very top.
  • Once in the middle.
  • Once just above floor level.

There may be a slight variation in the width between the top and bottom of the frame – if this is the case then use the shortest measurement.

2. Measure the height of the doorway (B)

Again, you should do this three times:

  • On the left.
  • In the centre.
  • On the right.

There is usually a small difference in the frame, particularly in older houses, and you need to make sure your door fits the smallest space.

Note: if there is a big difference in any one set of measurements (width or height) you may need to replace or realign the door frame before installing your doors.

3. Take both measurements again

It is important that these measurements are accurate, so take them twice just to be sure.

Being meticulous with your measurements might feel time-consuming when your taking them but it is worth it! It is far more hassle to discover your doors don’t fit half-way through hanging them, and far more expensive too if you’re no longer able to return or exchange them.

4. Find the right size

Check the size dropdowns on all our doors to see what sizes are available.

We have 11mm lipping's on all our doors allowing for up to 7mm to be taken off from each side and 25mm from the bottom on installation, ensuring a perfect fit for all frames.

How much can you trim from this door? Thanks
7mm from each side and 25mm from the bottom of the door
Hi, can you please advise the weight of this door?
The weights of our Oak Cottage doors range from 19.4kg up to 41kg depending on the size of the door. The weight and size of door will determine the hinges you will need, your door fitter will be able to tell you what you need by size of door.
Hi Are these doors finished and come ready to install? No varnish/paint required? Thank you
We would recommend you do varnish/paint. We find Osmo oil is great. You can buy these pre-finished from our site too.
Good morning I have recently purchased 9 Cottage Oak internal panel doors. Can you please confirm if Osmo door oil is safe to use on them? The Osmo website says that the oil is specifically for veneered wood products, but wanted to double check! Many thanks Hugh
Yes you can use Osmo door oil safely on our Oak Cottage Doors.
Are these doors unfinished or finished? Thanks
These come in unfinished and pre finished. Our pre-finished door is here
Can you supply the Cottage doors in 45mm thick as well?
Our Oak Cottage Fire door is available in 44mm. It is FD30 rated.
Hi I am just checking, I know it says “engineered core”, does this mean solid core or semi-solid core? Many thanks Martin
Hi, the Oak Cottage has a solid particle board core.
Do you cut these doors to size ?
Hi, we do not cut these down, but a carpenter/joiner will be able to trim 7mm from each side of the door and 25mm from the bottom of the door fairly easy for you.
Our door measurements are 1970 mm x 840 mm for 3 doors can you advise what size would need to select
Hi, the widest door we do is 838mm. You can trim 11mm from the bottom of our 1981mm tall doors to get 1970mm.
Hello, Do these come with any fitting equipment, hinges etc? Or just doors? Thanks
Hi, this particular door is just the door. You can buy your hinges, handles, latches from our Hardware section of our website - here
What is the width and depth of the grooves
Hi, 8mm wide, 4mm deep
I need to trim one door down to 1810 is that possible
You can trim most of doors down by 7mm on the sides and 25mm at the bottom. Unfortunately none of our current doors will go down to 1810
Hi how much can you trim a 1981mm door down on the top? Thanks
Hi, you can trim 25mm from the bottom of the door. Therefore it can be trimmed to 1956mm in total.
Are your white primed doors solid or hollow core?
All of our White Primed Doors are solid, giving you that extra quality. They are also ready to paint if you choose
Hello, what weight is a door of size 1981x762x35 and what weight is a door of size 1981x686x35 please. I need to order the appropriate hinges, thank you.
Hi Diane, the 762mm is the heavier door, this weights approx 29kg. The 686mm is less and weighs approx 27kg. You will be fine using a pair of 3 inch hinges on each door, they are designed and tested to take up to 40kg weight.
